Make Your Mark Privacy Policy:: Ken's World

The basic principles of the privacy policy are:
  • I will not make use of your personal details, except to write back to you, and supplying email suggests that you may want an answer to a comment, or question. Supplying email is never required, though.
  • I will not give out your personal details under any circumstances. If you have entered your email on the guestbook, I will alter the email so that SPAM Robots such as Cherry-Picker, EmailSiphon, or EmailWolf will not be able to obtain the email from the page. Unfortunately, this must be done manually, and there will be a day or so where the email is unprotected. For this reason, I always recommend using an email that you don't mind getting Junk Mail at. There are many free Email services.
Definitions::

  • "Personal Details" refers to every detail concerning an identified or identifiable person. Examples of these details are: name, e-mail address, postal address, etc.
  • "Anonymous Data" is data that cannot be traced back to natural persons. In other words, this is data that cannot be used to identify you. They include details relating to the way you use the Ibsite. Anonymous Data also include the domain names and/or IP addresses of internet browsers that visit the website, the times at which the websites are visited, and other data that cannot be used to identify natural persons. Anonymous data helps me to improve the website and service on the basis of user behavior.
  • A good example is reading the logs, and seeing that dozens of people are using WebTV©. The addition of text links is necessary for the older WebTV© clients. Probably the only other example is eliminating pages that are rarely used, like a web search page, that was rarely visited.
Sharing Personal Details::
  • Ken's World will not share or sell personal details, or Anonymous data. I will refuse all such requests, unless required by law to do so.
Cookies, and how they are used by Ken's World::
  • A "cookie" is a package of information that is sent out by a webserver to your browser, and then stored on the hard disk of your computer. Cookies do not damage your computer. Cookies will in most cases make it easier to browse the Internet, for they can store your preferences while you are visiting websites. By adjusting the settings of your browser you can say whether or not you want to accept cookies. Cookies here are used to personalize pages, using your name on the page. To view the information stored on the "Cookie" on your computer, click this link.
Use of IP addresses::
  • An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a series of numbers which is automatically assigned to your computer when you log in via your internet service provider or via your company's network. This can be via a single-location network, or Local Area Network (LAN), or via networks at various locations which are connected to each other, a Wide Area Network (WAN). Webservers, the powerful computers which make it possible to display websites, identify your computer through its IP address while you are online.
  • Ken's World may collect IP addresses for the following purposes: :
  • To survey geographic origin of users of Ken's World.

Thanks to Nedstat for providing a model for a Privacy Page, for I had no idea how to make one.
Every page that uses "cookies" and/or takes stats should post a privacy policy.
