2002 November 26 Tuesday - Praise & Pray from the Hills of Japan Thanks as always for your continued prayers. We have needed them. A WEDDING On November 9th, Cheryl and I were extremely priviledged to participate as we "stood for" a young Christian couple. Pray for Mr. & Mrs. Nakaminami as they start their married life. Pray that this will be a Christian home that is open and ministering jointly. AN ILLNESS On friday evening the 15th, I came up with some kind of stomach flu (or something!). An awful rugged 48 hours, but I am back in the land of the living. Fortunately no body else caught it, we kept the kids away from me for the whole time. Lost the whole weekend. A FUNERAL Last friday the 22nd Pastor Okita and I went 3+ hours north to an overnight meeting. We arrived about 5pm and around 5:30pm we were getting calls from home that one of the church members had died suddenly of a massive stroke. Mr. Saito and his wife are both believers. They have one highschool son. Mrs. Saito and Hiroaki have been believers for quite awhile, but Mr. Saito accepted Jesus as Savior last year and was baptized just one year ago. Praise God for the testimony to so many non Christian family, friends and co-employees. There was a dramatic change in his life and was a witness over this past year. Pray for those who heard the gospel and for Mrs. Saito and Hiroaki as they adjust. CONTINUING HOSPITAL VISITS I have continued to visit with Mr. Otake. Scripture reading and prayer are anticipated by him. We are reading through the Gospel of John now. Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide me and open his heart to God's word. His third surgery to get the rest of the stomach cancer is scheduled for December 16th. Please pray for his salvation and healing. Up Coming Schedule: Tuesday 26th: Help with Takashi Ikeda's rehab program this afternoon. Please continue to pray for their salvation. I will try to visit Mr. Otake between some other family errands. Tonite we will have turkey thanksgiving meal with Mrs. Otake, Tomoko and her sister, together with Mike a friend from our church in Albuquerque. Wednesday 27th: Office time: three sermons to prep for and short term ministry prep to keep rolling forward. Thursday 28th: More Office time: I need it desperately. Pray for these days as I have had so few of them recently and so much to get ready for. Friday 29th: Invited out to a thanksgiving event with US friends from the church who work at an international company here. Prayer meeting with Pastor Okita. Saturday 30th: AM: Cell leaders meeting at Midorino Chapel. PM: Awanas (church kid's program) in the afternoon. Victory Prayer meeting in the evening. Sunday Dec 1st: AM: Worship at Midorino Chapel. Do simultaneous translation for internationals in attendance. PM: Participate in the Gospel Music Outreach. Monday Dec 2nd: Take Mike to airport. Relax with family.
