Technology Stuff: It has come to my attention that some of you received symbols unrelated to English, otherwise known as "gobbuly gook". It is due, I think, to my using a Japanese based Word software and copying it down into the Email software, even though I used the English mode. So I'm trying another approach. Let me know if you get any "gobbuly gook". Everyday for the past 2 weeks it has been over 90 with 60 - 100% humidity. Rain and Typhoons have kept us on our toes too. THE MINISTRY OF THE SUMMER Next week we have a summer team coming from Washington Heights Baptist Church from Ogden, UT. They have come several summers in a row and we have a wonderful partnership. They minister to several of our Japanese University students who study in Ogden. We call this event Tomoni 2002 (pronounced toe-moe-knee) It means "Friends Together." We will have several events targeting the various ages. I'll list these below with the weekly schedule. A PARTICULAR NEED OF PRAYER There is a difficult situation that I have found myself in the middle of and I need wisdom to bring resolution to it. It involves a missionary from another Asian country who has gotten a small group of Christians together and are starting a church in a countryside town about 1 and a half hours north of here. He has participated in Conservative Baptist ministry in his own country but came to Japan with a visa sponsored by an independent church. His visa is expiring and he has to leave the country. We are willing to give some ministerial help for the work in his absence. That is no problem. But he separated from the sponsoring independent church he e in Japan and now would like CB's in Japan to sponsor his visa. There are several reasons why we have decided that we cannot do this at this time. If he can resolve some issues in his home country and be approved and sent out by the CB organization in his own country that would probably work. But the organization in his own country has given us reason to believe that they are not willing to approve him and send him. That is as much as I will write for now, but you can imagine that there are more factors that further complicate the situation. I must call him today. Up Coming Schedule: Saturday 20th: Awana Club Special, corn party at a members farm and games with Bible time lead by Leon. Victory Prayer Meeting at Midorino, Dad & Jeffrey attend.
