*** *** *** 18 DEC 2001 PRAISE & PRAY from the Hills of Japan COMPUTER VIRUS STRIKES We are now among the many who have been terrorized by computer viruses. Just after we sent the last Praise & Pray I made a mistake and "clicked" instead of "deleted" an Email I was suspicious of and that was all she wrote. Actually it "un-wrote" much. Now, after a healthy repair fee, an intensive "search and rescue" mission for files, and much more time used then planned we are now at least functioning again. We have been declared virus free... so with that we send you this update. VISA STATUS Last week as planned we took our paper work in. The hitch was (and there have been a lot of "hitches" these days...) with Jeffrey and Abigail's paper work. Nothing to do with "birth certificates". This time we need to submit documents proving the children have renounced their Japanese citizenship. (Don't ask, I'm as baffled as you are.) There does not seem any intent to make it difficult for us. I believe we are just dealing with some detail found in a regulation book. As a result we have been on the telephone with Pastor Okita, our partner in Japan, 3 times so far and counting. He has discovered that for him to receive the needed documents for us we must sign a "release" form. He emailed the copies to us and we have Express Mailed them back with my signature in triplicate. We now anticipate submitting our documents in January. PRAY that God's hand will guide all of this and turn it to His good as He has promised. PRAISE Him too for the answered prayer we anticipate. TOMOKO CLEARS IMMIGRATION SMOOTHLY Yes, Tomoko is back with us with no hitch this time. PRAISE God for His protection and intervention on Tomoko's and our behalf. Together With You For Christ's Kingdom, Abigail, Jeffrey, Cheryl, & Leon |
