2 MAY 2000 - PRAISE & PRAY from the HILLS of JAPAN

Recently Mr. Soeda returned after around 6 years in Thailand. Many
will remember the Soeda Family as the main family that started with us in our church planting ministry in Ryugasaki New Town.

Many things have happened for this family over these years. Not the
least being their two daughters who confessed their faith publicly via
baptism this past year. Their oldest, their only son Jun, is working and
has been on his own for quite some time. Their second, their daughter Yurika, is a 3rd year student at Sophia University. Their youngest, daughter Megumi, just recently went off to a private Christian high school. She is staying in the dorm there and off to a happy and good start.

Cheryl and I have been praying this whole long term for the revitalizing
of a couples group. A place of encouragement for both believers and
unbelievers. A place to share Christ's love and Christ's encouraging
(good) news. We have set a first date with the Soedas, May12th (a
Friday), to get together. Please pray that:

#1) this will be a time of encouragement for Mr. & Mrs. Soeda.
#2) it will become a regular event.
#3) a vision for spreading this to other couples will grow in the Soeda's
hearts.

This coming week:
TUESDAY - 2nd:
Office in the AM.

Help with Takashi Ikeda's rehab... Jr. High English in the PM.

WEDNESDAY - 3rd:
Prayer & Prep day.

THURSDAY - 4th:
Office in AM.

Fellowship with a young missionary couple... (not yet confirmed).

FRIDAY - 5th:
Office morning...

Date out with Cheryl.

SATURDAY - 6th:
Assist a missionary family who is moving from one house to another.

Awana Club in the afternoon. Victory Prayer Meeting with Jeffrey and
then discipleship training with Yoshiya and Nao in PM.

SUNDAY 7th:
Preach at Shonan Grace Chapel. Speak to the High School kids in the evening there.

* ERIKO KOIZUMI *
Eriko meets with Pastor Okita weekly for discipleship. Pray for her
continued spiritual growth. She also baby-sits for us. Her English
ability is on the increase. Praise The Lord!

* ERIKA MORIGUCHI *
She has become more comfortable in the regular classes at Weber
State Univ. Pray that she will give witness of her faith and for her
continued growth in her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray
for her mother's & brothers' salvation who are here in Japan. Pray for
us as we miss her "extremely".

* NOBUE KONNO *
Nobue is ministering together with Washington Heights Baptist Church
and MTA missionaries Robert & Karen Nakaoka. Pray for her as she
leads the weekly prayer and study time with Erika and Sanae. Please
pray for her university studies too.

* SANAE HOYA *
In Ogden with Nobue and Erika, studying at Weber St. Univ. Pray that she will have the courage to make a public confession of faith in Jesus. Pray also for you "boy friend", his name is Ryo.

* AKI TAIDO *
Pray that she will continue to move towards Christ and His family of
love. And also, that we will be able to meet with her again soon.

* NOZAKI FAMILY *
Pray for fellowship with this family and their salvation & comfort in time of stress.

* RYUNOSUKE NOZAKI *
Pray that Ryunosuke will choose Jesus Christ as his special friend.
Pray for him in his new life in Aiken, South Carolina. He has made
contact with Rev. Frank & Betty Noell!

* CHERYL (the Mama) HILL *
Unless otherwise indicated, Cheryl is always the one running Jeffrey's
program and there is ALWAYS A SPECIAL PRAYER NEED for her.
