20 JANUARY 2000 - PRAISE & PRAY from the HILLS of JAPAN

OOPS! DIDN'T I MENTION THAT YET?!
Many of you know this already, but we have not published it here as
yet. Due to considerations related to Jeffrey's rehab we will be
extending this term one year. We have begun the 5th year of this term.
Our next Home Assignment is projected to start mid-January 2001.

One consideration (among others) is that this strategy will hopefully
allow us to travel as a family to visit you all during that year of Home
Assignment. We are praying that Jeffrey's progress will improve
enough to allow such. We would appreciate your prayers for this.

Another consideration though is that we continue to have specific
financial needs for Jeffrey's on going Education - Rehab. We thank our
dear friend Mrs. R. H. for having the vision to give a monthly amount for
Jeffrey's needs to our Education Account, and that's over and above
her giving to our regular support. We mention this financial need as
both a prayer request and opportunity.

We do find it hard to mention these financial areas. But we are
reminded that we should be open in all areas of need. And, how can
you know if we do not mention it. If God leads you in this, one time or
monthly amounts can be sent to:

This coming week:
WEDNESDAY - 19th:
Prayer and Sharing with missionary friend. Family needs in the
afternoon.

THURSDAY - 20th:
Cheryl will attend Tea Time at Midorino Chapel with Mrs. Ichikawa and
Mrs. Kondo this morning.

High school and Adult English in the evening.

FRIDAY - 21st:
Meet with Pastor Okita for our prayer and planning meeting in late
afternoon.

Date time with Cheryl, in house candlelight surprise... so I can't tell
you...

SATURDAY - 22nd:
Start a twice a month discipleship and training time with 2 young
(Junior High) Awana leaders.

Awana Club in the afternoon. Victory Prayer Meeting in the evening.

SUNDAY 23rd:
Worship together at Midorino Chapel. The inevitable meetings and
fellowship in the afternoon.

MONDAY - 24th:
Recuperation Day... Some office time.

TUESDAY - 25th:
Office in AM. To Ikedas to help with Takashi's rehab program in the
afternoon. Children's & Jr. High English in the evening.

UPDATE ITEMS: (refreshed on 20 Jan 00)
* ERIKO KOIZUMI *
Eriko has started to meet with Pastor Okita weekly for discipleship.
Pray for her continued spiritual growth. Pray also for her father, Mr.
Koizumi's complete healing after cancer surgery. Eriko has started to
fill out application forms to study at a private Christian high school
there.

* ERIKA MORIGUCHI *
Praise that she is faithfully pursuing her discipleship relationship with
Nobue Konno. Also, she is participating fully in church life. Pray for
growth of her heart, that she will soon be baptized, and for discipline in
her studies. Pray for her mother's salvation who is here in Japan.
Pray for us as we miss her "extremely".

* SANAE HOYA *
In Ogden with Nobue and Erika, studying at Weber St. Univ. Pray that
she will have the courage to make a public confession of faith in Jesus
and that she will respond to Nobue's spiritual leadership.

* AKI TAIDO *
She has returned. Pray we will have opportunity to witness to her
here. Thanks to Benson's and Carpenters who gave her Christian
hospitality during her stay.

* NOBUE KONNO *
Nobue is ministering together with Washington Heights Baptist Church
and MTA missionaries Robert & Karen Nakaoka. Pray for her as she
gives spiritual leadership to both Erika and Sanae.

* NOZAKI FAMILY *
Pray for fellowship with this family and their salvation.

* RYUNOSUKE NOZAKI *
Thanks for your ideas!!! Any more please send them my way. He
desires to work in the USA if possible using his excellent language
skills with his engineering background. DO YOU KNOW OF ANY
JAPANESE COMPANIES OR COMPANIES DOING BUSINESS WITH
JAPAN near you he might apply too? We are praying that he will be
near Christian friends of ours. He also attends 2 Bible Studies and
other events organized by Robert Nakaoka & Washington Heights Baptist.
Church. Pray that Ryunosuke will choose Jesus Christ as his special
friend.

* CHERYL (the Mama) HILL *
Unless otherwise indicated, Cheryl is always the one running Jeffrey's
program and there is ALWAYS A SPECIAL PRAYER NEED for her.

Jeffrey is doing great with running and brachiating. Please keep
praying.
