19 NOVEMBER 99 - PRAISE & PRAY from the HILLS of JAPAN

Please pray for my new friend, Shun Oike (pronounced Shoon Oh-ee-
kay). He is a first grader who has started coming to Awanas. They live
in Ryugasaki New Town near us.

His Daddy and Mother our getting a divorce and this young friend is
extremely troubled in his heart. He and I "wrestled" for a full forty
minutes during the Awanas time this past Saturday. As we wrestled, I
prayed over him, sang to him, told him how much he was loved and we
wrestled on. In the end the miracle happened. I was telling his mother
that if he wanted to return that we wanted him. And as I turned him
over to his mother, he conquered his own heart and cried in his
mother's lap and apologized to her. He then proceeded to honor me
with a portrait that he drew of me and my car. His mother made a
telling comment. She told me that I was the first one to NOT give up
on him.

Shun is a boy who is intelligent and determined. Pray that this
determination and intelligence will be turned over to the Lord, Jesus
Christ. Pray for his family. I even dare to pray for the miracle of a
healed family.

This past & coming week:
MONDAY - 15th:
Traveled north to spend an overnight with pastors & missionaries in

program in the afternoon. Children's & Jr. High English in the evening.

WEDNESDAY - 17th:
Odds and ends around the house. Went to Tokyo to spend time with
my good friend, Jim O'Gieblyn.

THURSDAY - 18th:
Jeffrey to the hospital for his semi-annual blood work. He did great!
Complete cooperation. High School and Adult English in the evening.

FRIDAY - 19th:
What! Is it Friday already! Well I'm doing this and other
correspondence. Plan to wrap up sermon prep for this Sunday. Run
Jeffrey. Try to meet with Shun for a short play. And then meet with
Pastor Okita.

SATURDAY - 20th:
Do everything I don't get done today. Awana Club in the afternoon.
Victory Prayer Meeting in the evening.

SUNDAY 21st:
Preach and worship at Midorino Chapel.

BTW the Family Concert held last Sunday was a great success. Most
of my English Students participated and as a result were able to meet
with our church friends too.
