8 NOVEMBER 99 - PRAISE & PRAY from the HILLS of JAPAN

What rejoicing there was as we listened to the testimonies of Yurika &
Megumi Soeda this past Sunday at their Baptismal Service. They
spoke a clear witness of their firm faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and
their determination to walk in obedience and in joy as Christians.

Cheryl's and my hearts are especially encouraged as our ministry with
this family started on the first Sunday of our ministry in Ryugasaki New
Town. These two were young children at the time and now as college
and junior high students they have publicly proclaimed their allegiance
to our Savior Lord, Jesus Christ, and have turned their backs on all
other gods. God has promised that His word will not return void!

What a joy to see the three generations of Christians together.
Grandmother, Mother and the 2 Daughters. Oldest brother Jun was
there too, but unfortunately Mr. Soeda's job has him in Thailand. Pray
for Yurika and Megumi as they walk with Christ. Pray for brother Jun
to follow in their footsteps. Also, please pray that Mr. & Mrs. Soeda's
circumstances will be changed of God that they may live together as
God intends.

* ERIKO KOIZUMI *
Eriko has started to meet with Pastor Okita weekly for discipleship.
Pray for her continued spiritual growth. Pray also for her father, Mr.
Koizumi. His cancer treatment is ahead of schedule according to the

discomfort. THIS WEEK HE WILL HAVE SURGERY to remove the

chemotherapy. He has found joy in witnessing to his fellow patients in
the hospital. Pray for a quick and complete healing for God's glory.

* ERIKA MORIGUCHI *
Praise that she is faithfully pursuing her discipleship relationship with
Nobue Konno. Also, she is participating fully in church life. Pray for
