1 NOVEMBER 99 - PRAISE & PRAY from the HILLS of JAPAN
1 NOVEMBER 99 - PRAISE & PRAY from the HILLS of JAPAN
This past week was had two trips to the Yokohama area to minister at
Shonan Grace Chapel. Another church plant effort within the Keisen
Church network. On Wednesday I spoke at a Women's Tea Time on
Parent Child Relationships. I was the 4th in a series done by 3 pastors
and myself.
And then yesterday (Sunday) I returned to preach and lead the high
school worship service in the evening. I cover 5th Sundays for them.
Pray for the Toshida Family who are the core members of this church
planting effort. Worship and other events are held in their "expanded"
house. A "fringe benefit" of going there is I can go for a walk along the
ocean as it is less than ten minutes from their home.
Another report for those who remind me (i.e. keep me accountable)
every time I DO NOT include a date night with Cheryl in our weekly
schedule. We had a special dinner on Friday. And though it was an
"in-house" date, we both agreed it was one of the most fun dates
we've ever had. And we have had a lot of fun dates. Did I mention, I
made and served the dinner. (Well now that I broke my arm patting
myself on the back... I'll confess that the first course was "brought in"
sashimi. Cheryl's favorite.)
One more update, Jeffrey's 5K best time now is 31:47... but still not
independent on the horizontal ladder.
And a PRAISE item. This Sunday the two Soeda sisters will be
baptized. The Soeda family have been with us since we began ministry
in Ryugasaki New Town.
