7 SEPTEMBER 99 - PRAISE & PRAY from the HILLS of JAPAN
Well, we have begun to slip into a more (but not quite) regular weekly
routine. I'm still waiting for cooler weather, though I've been told it is
cooler.
Please be praying for Mikkie Melanson. She has come to be an
Assistant Language Teacher with Prof. Tsuchida, a high school English
teacher. She is making the adjustment well but is encountering the
variety of cultural surprises and stresses that come with living in
Japan. Pray for 1)cultural adjustment, 2)adjustment to being away from
her beloved parents, 3)for her teaching skills and their development,
4)for witness among the friends that she makes, and 5)her participation
with the Fukuda Machi Chapel in Northern Japan. I helped arrange this
partnership and will stand as a spiritual advisor (Pastor?) to Mikkie from
her own culture when I make my visits there with Pastor Okita.
This coming week:
MONDAY - 6th:
Yesterday already... Office in the morning. Then I assisted Mrs.
Kodama (landlady of the room I rent for English and office) by driving
her to the Appliance store and super market. We then went to dinner
together with Mrs. Kodama in the evening.
TUESDAY - 7th:
Office this morning with Abigail doing her studies here too. When I'm
done with this I'll go to Ikedas to help with Takashi's rehab program.
Children's, Jr. High, & Adult English classes later on.
WEDNESDAY - 8th:
Will get together for prayer and fellowship with fellow missionary John
Houlette.
THURSDAY - 9th:
Still playing catch up from this busy summer both at home and in my
office. High school and Adult English in the evening.
FRIDAY - 10th:
Meet with Pastor Okita for prayer and planning. Date (in house?) with
Cheryl.
SATURDAY 11th:
Awana Club in the afternoon. Victory Prayer Meeting in the evening.
SUNDAY 12th:

meeting in the evening.
