22 APRIL 99 - PRAISE & PRAY from the HILLS of JAPAN

A FLURRY OF ACTIVITY!!!!

Is it really the 22nd of April already?

On the 13th we said our heartfelt "See Ya Later!; Vayos Con Dios;
Itterashai!" to Brett Turner. It was a quick 3 months. But we do look
forward to his return this summer with those coming on the "Friends
Together Tour '99" from Washington Heights Baptist. Church in Ogden, UT.

Saturday and Sunday was extremely busy with meetings... all
successful and good meetings.

Monday we hosted at the Midorino Chapel, the annual Day of Prayer
for our missionary team here in Japan. And thankfully, I had the
excellent help of Ivan & Jeannie King in taking care of the "hosting"
responsibilities. What a great couple and wonderful friends.

BUT, behind all this since the last time I communicated with you was
Eriko Koizumi's homestay situation. We even sent out a special edition
regarding it. We thank the 4 families that offered themselves as part of
the solution. Thank you Beasleys, Hills, Jagers and Bensons. We thank
the others of you that offered suggestions and your prayers for us
through this time.

It was touch and go for a while. But by God's great orchestration of
details, as of Monday the 19th Eriko is in Portland, OR being hosted by
Jim and Kerry Benson & their 3 children. She will attend Portland
Christian in their "Personal Enrichment Program" (non credit) for
International Students. This will be a time of evaluation for Eriko. She
is interested in going to high school in the USA and this is a "test run"
for her to see how cross cultural living goes for her. Please pray for
Eriko and the Bensons as they bridge the cultural gap for Christ's
Kingdom.

THURSDAY - 22nd
Well today is almost gone...

We meet with Erika Moriguchi and Mr. & Mrs. Ikeda (her Uncle & Aunt,
Takashi's parents) tonight to discuss her doing some kind of homestay
with us in preparation for her going to college in Ogden, UT. This of
course, has to be done after my high schoolers English class, so it will
be late. Mrs. Imada will "sit" with the kids who should be sleeping by
then.

FRIDAY - 23rd:
Go with Pastor Okita and Pastor Gohira to Northwest Japan for an
elders & pastor's meeting. About a 5 hour drive.

SATURDAY - 24th:
Return with Pastor Okita and Pastor Gohira.

Afternoon Awana Club, Saturday Evening "Victory Prayer Meeting" in
preparation and petition for Sunday worship.

SUNDAY - 25th:
I preach at Midorino Chapel in the morning. Starting a new series on
"Take Up Your Own Cross".

MONDAY - 26th:
Ikedas leave for the USA to take Takashi to the Institutes for the
Achievement of Human Potential (IAHP). Pray for them and our
continuing friendship with them. May they turn to Jesus for the healing
of their hearts.

Erika Moriguchi as a result will come to our place. Pray that she will
bond with the youth of Midorino Chapel.

I will try to see Mrs. Kodama.
