16 November 98 - PRAISE & PRAY for the HILLS of JAPAN

THIS WEEK: A Busy "Odds & Ends" Week

Things do not always go as you plan. We all know that. Cheryl and I
got down to the Immigration Office to renew our visas and discovered
we did not have all that we needed. You'd think that after all these
years we'd get it right. Details, details...

But one thing that did go as planned was that I was able, by skipping
the lunch at Sekiyado Chapel, to arrive back in our area in time to hear
Abigail's performance in a violin group lead by her teacher. It was held
at the cultural center here. What fun! And then later in the day Cheryl
and Abigail did a duet at the Annual Family Concert held at Midorino
Chapel. This is a relationship building event designed to invite the
community to perform also. A local women's choral came and did a
wonderful job. One of our Christian young lady's mother is in this
group. Breanne, our excellent short term minister, played a flute duet
with one of our members. Their's was at the truly classical level.

Those of you who are reading for detail will note that I said in last
weeks edition that these two concerts would be at the same time. Well
things do not always go as you plan. And sometimes its for the better!

The week in short:
MONDAY - 16th:
House work, Office work, groceries, and misc. running around.

Breanne will teach English everyday this week in the afternoon to
young children.

TUESDAY - 17th:
Afternoon, to Ikeda's to help with Takashi's rehabilitation program.
(Takashi was in a boys Bible study I had several years ago. Evening,
young children's English class. Late evening, adult beginner's English
class. And Breanne's English.

WEDNESDAY - 18th:
Office day for me. Prayer & preparation. Breanne's English.

THURSDAY - 19th:
Office day. Evening English with the Jr. - Sr. High girls, which Breanne
will lead, in addition to teaching the young children.

FRIDAY - 20th:
Go to the "eye doctor" (still do not know how to spell that) for follow
up. I've not noticed much change since the taking the medication so
will discuss with the doctor what's next.

Finalize sermon for Sunday at Sekiyado. Meet with Pastor Okita for
Prayer and planning. Breanne's English. Hoping for night out with
Cheryl.

SATURDAY - 21st:
Awanas... Some family time and housework...

SUNDAY - 22nd:
I preach at Sekiyado Chapel. The Kanto Joint CB Fellowship Day
starts. Churches from the Larger Tokyo area will be coming together
here at Midorino Chapel for fellowship, encouragement in the Word, and
times of worship. Being the "host church" we have some extra duties
this time.

MONDAY - 23rd:
The second day of the Kanto Joint CB Fellowship Day.

And then PLEASE PRAY for those things we do not know which day
they will happen... We are waiting for a final estimate on installation of
a heater... (the mornings are a bit chilly... but not chilly enough to go to
the trouble of a space heater.), back to the immigration office for the
visa work, and several other like items.

Please, continue to remember in prayer:
* BREANNE BEASLEY our current short term minister *
* ICHIKAWA FAMILY * Despite the laws of the land, they are seriously
thinking about attempting to home school Megumi for Jr. High. PRAY,
PRAY, PRAY!!!
* NOBUE KONNO ministering in Ogden *
* NOZAKI FAMILY *
* RYUNOSUKE NOZAKI in Ogden *
* KENICHIRO WATANABE'S Salvation *

Thank you for your ever faithful prayers. We praise God for you!

Your Compatriots in Christ's Kingdom,

The Hills: Abigail, Jeffrey, Cheryl & Leon
